Segway Enthusiasts Group
It seems like there are enthusiast groups for virtually everything today, from animal lovers to cooks to book clubs. Segways are no different. While many people may have a Segway simply for the convenience, others are members of a Segway enthusiasts group. Members of such groups not only have a machine, they celebrate it and share their passion with fellow members. Members might meet to discuss their machines, including problems they might have (technical problems that others might have fixes for, or areas of their city that are not Segway friendly and should be avoided), new activities they have discovered that are fun, or just to be around like minded people. Other groups might be more active, going on outings with their devices.
They might meet somewhere in a city and travel to a restaurant for lunch, or go for a ride along a waterfront, or even explore a park if they all have capable machines. Some groups go even farther; Segway polo games are organized in some cities. Most people are probably familiar of the version of the game played on horseback, with a ball and long-handled wooden mallets for striking it. The mallets in Segway polo are a bit shorter, but the principles of the game are the same. The activities that can be done on Segways are limited only by the rider’s imaginations and the surrounding terrain. Whether they get together for coffee or an excursion, members of Segway enthusiasts groups can enjoy being among like-minded people.
The Segway HT is more popular in large cities.
